Abstract
RGB-IR camera systems are capable of generating color and IR monochrome images simultaneously for Occupancy Monitoring System (OMS) and Driver Monitoring System (DMS) purposes. The ability to combine both color and IR video from a single camera reduces the cost and area required for these applications. As a new technology in automotive, this approach faces unique challenges, which need to be addressed from a system perspective, including areas related to optics, image sensors, and ISP algorithms.
Speakers info
Hongxin (Hans) Li is a principal ISP architect at GEO Semiconductor, a start-up company that builds highly efficient camera video processor ICs. He has more than 17 years of experience in the embedded domain, including software, ISP pipeline algorithms, architecture, roadmap definition, and leading engineering teams on ISP pipeline algorithms. He has filed and been granted multiple patents and is currently taking the dynamic range IQF lead role in IEEE P2020 workgroup (automotive imaging and ADAS image quality standards). He holds an MS and a BS degree in electronic engineering and image processing from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China.
